1920s Charleston

Let's party like it's 1926 again with some Twenties Charleston!!! For this month's all-levels class we are going right back to the start to look at 1920s style Charleston. This is a fun, high energy style of dance that is the bee's knees and the cat's pyjamas! At Swing Patrol we often do 1940s style Charleston as it works really well with other Swing rhythms, so this is a rare chance to learn the original Charleston dance. There is a lot of slipping and sliding, so we recommend wearing slippery soled shoes, leather is ideal. Rubber soled shoes are not going to be great, but you can also dance in your socks. This class is suitable for everyone - so whether you're new to dancing or an old hand, there will be something for you. Do one class or do both, the choice is yours. 7.00pm - Level 1 - 1940s Charleston 8.00pm - All-levels - 1920s Charleston We do an all-levels class on the first Tuesday of every month, exploring different styles of dancing.
