This workshop will be all about the official-sounding concept of "squish" and how you can cultivate and build it in every partner movement possibility on the dance floor. With this tried-and-true method, leads will be able to initiate with confidence and clarity, while followers will be building their toolset in order to be able to follow anything that comes their way. When you can fully rest in the confidence of your dance connection, this is the exact moment when magic and creativity begins to happen in your dance 🙂 Part 1: Finding the Squish (60 min): A comprehensive exploration of lead/follow dynamics and how to use the concept of "squish" to generate every partner movement possibility. Part 2: Leveling Up your Squish (60 min): Master a chain of partner dance movements and cultivate the "squish" between each move for a connection that feels comfortable, effective, and dynamic. 💃🏻 About Your Hosts 💃🏻 JEANNIE LIN is a dancer who is able to effortlessly adapt, blend, articulate and draw from a myriad of different dance forms and experiences. Her early training consisted of gymnastics, ballet, and modern dance, while her later years included formal study in over 30 styles of partner dance at the Ballroom Dance Teacher's Academy where she graduated with high honors. Her evenings were spent teaching professionally at a ballroom dance studio, while her late-night adventures included clubs and bars all over the city dancing salsa, bachata, west coast swing, blues, argentine tango, and more. Now she happily resides in the worlds of fusion and argentine tango, where she weaves in her other dance styles together seamlessly, integrating concepts and creating hybrid movements with grace and fluidity. Recognized for her nuanced and effective teaching style, she's been invited to teach internationally at fusion festivals and workshops, including in Spain, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Poland, Hungary, and Canada.
