About this Event
This 20th March we celebrate International Women's Month at Casa del Ritmo bringing you Canarias meets Cuba with our special guest Elena Machin from the Canary Islands bringing her vibrant voice with the beats of Rumba, Bossa nova, Son, Latin jazz, and Tropical Caribbean rhythms to heat the dance floor as you embark on a musical journey filled with energy and soul. Canary Islands music is diverse, with influences from the native Guanches, Spain, Latin America, and Africa.
Featuring the amazing Jesus Cutiño, from Las Tunas, Cuba, he is one of the best exponents in the UK Latin scene bringing the roots of Salsa, an amalgamation of Son Montuno, Boleros, Cha cha cha, trova, and Cuban danzones. He grew up surrounded by music (his father and grand-father were “trovadores” and played tres and guitar in the Oriente tradition).
A powerful combo will join them on stage on multi-Percussion with Randy Hechavarria plus more special guests to be announced.
Hosted by CarlitosNino DJ bringing the original sounds of alternative latin music and modern rhythms with a London twist.
Join us on the third Thursday of every month at Casa del Ritmo showcasing some of the best Latin acts London offers. Come and party with London’s Latin community and make new friends. A night to dance, listen, and learn about Latin American rhythms, instruments, traditions, stories, and their roots.
