Samba Free Style Competition First ever free style competition to celebrate the Brasilian Carnival 2017 - What a great way to show case your skills, training and most importantly, have fun! Trophies and prize money will be rewarded with judges direct from the Melbourne Brazilian entertainment community' Casaloca presents the first Samba freestyle competition in Melbourne! GIRLS GET READY TO SHOW YOUR SAMBA SKILLS Categories: 1. Amateur – for dancers who have never received a fee for any dance performance 2. Open – for dancers who have previously received a fee for dance performance Rules: - dance freestyle samba for approx 30secs to 1 minute, to a randomly selected song (to samba pagode, batucada or enredo). You will be allowed 16 counts to hear the random song choice in the beginning. - Incorporating other dance styles is allowed - No costumes - No dancing barefoot - No use of props You will be judged according to the following: 1. Your 'ginga' - performance and overall presentation 2. Musicality 3.
