This unique teacher training course combines in depth education in foundation, history, theory, and musicality in Kizomba, Semba, and Traditional Angolan rhythms. It is important to develop a strong base regardless of what dance style you prefer. There will also be an emphasis on practical skills to help you become a more effective instructor during weekly classes, festival, and private settings. Riquita Alta: With nearly 30 years of dancing experience, Riquita is one of the most sought after and respected Kizomba teachers because of her approach to teaching and emphasis on the Basics and Foundation, Riquita is often called a Kizomba Purist. To her being a Purist merely means that if one has strong foundation one becomes a better dancer... And the results speak for themselves. Riquita's passion for Kizomba dancing is unparalleled, only to be rivalled by her passion for sharing it with others. Tó Costa: Originally from Angola now living in England, Tó Costa is DJ/instructor who is famous for his in-depth understanding of musicality in Kizomba and Semba along with his expertise in teaching both Kizomba and Semba. Tania Mendonca: Originally from Angola living in England, Tania brings practical knowledge for both leading and following and takes an organic approach to teaching. She is also skilled in making body movement for follows and leads flow in a fluid and natural manner. Billy and Monica Kay of Kizomba Harmony: Billy and Monica Kay are from the USA and are known for their practical approach to teaching dance. They are the creators of the world’s first downloadable Kizomba instructional app that has helped dancers take their first Kizomba steps and improve their dance in over 71 countries worldwide. In addition to the Teacher Training Course we will include a special Urban Specialty course with Curtis and Carola and Kizomba Harmony. Challenge your musicality and body movement skills as you learn to incorporate a strong Kizomba/Semba foundation into dancing to different musical genres.
