As part of the artistic direction of Ballet Folklórico del Oriente, one of Cuba’s most prestigious companies, he earned recognition from UNEAC for his outstanding choreography, with his work "Cimarrón" becoming one of the most popular dance shows in Cuba in 2017. Jesús has performed and taught around the world, from Cuba to the US and Europe, including a standout performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Festival. He has collaborated with legendary rumba orchestras like Muñequitos de Matanzas and some of Cuba's most famous music groups, including Los Van Van and Charanga Habanera. A researcher and educator, Jesús’s deep understanding of Afro-Cuban traditions led him to help develop the curriculum for Cuban professional art schools. His teaching has influenced hundreds of professional dancers, and his reputation draws students from across the globe.
