3rd Year Anniversary Workshops Social with Live Music

Please join us as we celebrate our 3rd year as a dance school. 2023 was another amazing year, filled with lots of dancing, hours of classes given and taken, performing locally and nationally, traveling for trainings, making new friends and connecting with the old ones. We thank each one of you believing and actively taking part in the dream of becoming a family, supporting the community and spread the love of music and dance. For this year’s celebration, we are honored to host, the one and only Julían Mejía, (originally from Colombia, now resides in Atlanta) the director of SALSAtlanta, to share his years of knowledge and experience with us. He will be teaching 2 90-minutes workshops and will be joining us at the social at night. We love you and looking forward to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary. Thank you all for an amazing year! The best is yet to come! Workshops will be from 1-4pm. (Each workshop 90 min.) Social with live music from 7PM-11PM! Your local band Charanga LF will take the stage and play Cuban songs, including son, chachachá, pachanga etc. Tropical attire is encouraged. Let's welcome the spring with muchos colores 🌈🌺 And DJ TimburÓn will play all genres before and after the band. WORKSHOPS DETAILS: 1:00PM-2:30PM Leading/following techniques - Intermediate Leading should be a suggestion that presents only one option. We will work on lead and following techniques, by applying drills to improve the communication and connectivity between follower and lead. Julian will share his techniques and tips to make leading more clear from the premise that leading a move should be a suggestion that leaves no room for options instead of a directive. We will work on lowering the guard to build confidence and clarity. Be prepared to improve your connectivity and to improve fluidity. 2:30PM-4:00PM Unblocking the Rueda patterns: Deconstructing the turns - Intermediate/Advanced Rueda moves are just choreography blocks. In this class we will build from simple moves and will add elements of complexity to add spontaneity and unpredictability in the dance. Let's turn the dance into a fun conversation between lead and follower. We will build from the simple to complex and will unleash creativity and spontaneity.
