4 Week Intermediate Swing Dance Course - Savoy Charleson

Level 2 – 8.10pm – 9.10pm – pre-book a 4 week course Intermediate Savoy Charleston Pivotal to the Lindy Hop dance as seen in the Savoy Ballroom in the 1930s, Charleston is particularly useful for fast dancing and offers an interesting and diverse range of vocabulary that can really bring up playfulness and vivacity to each dance. On this block we will kick deeper into the peculiarities and technique of this highly energetic style, and will explore a wide range of vocabulary that will take it to the next level (eg. Savoy Kicks, Aroundthe World, Corridor Charleston or Hacksaws). Suitable for dancers who are familiar with Savoy Charleston classic shapes or are taking the beginners course and are already comfortable with Lindy Hop. You can book as an individual but we will of course accommodate those who don’t wish to rotate partners. We can’t use class cards for pre-booked classes. A percentage of the course price will be contributed to charities supporting the fight against racism. · We will be rotating partners in class but if you would prefer to dance with just one person, please let us know upon arrival so we can accommodate that · Respect the boundaries and concerns of others in the class, and help them to understand yours.
