5050 Swing at The Press Box -Toy Drive!

Happy Holidays!! TOY DRIVE!!!! Come party with us every 2nd Saturday of the month!! This month,December 14th!! Come join us for our Annual Toy Drive!! I am teaming up with one of our favorite DJs Helen Tocco for a holiday night of awesomeness! Each year at 5050 we typically help with the Duke’s Toy Store toy drive hosted by some of our fellow dancers. This year, that toy drive is on hiatus, but we have found another great cause that we hope you will help us to support. Uplift Family Services focuses on helping children and families faced with homelessness, abuse, and behavioral health challenges, and they serve more than 30,000 children and their family members in California each year. Uplift Family Services runs an annual toy drive in the Los Angeles area for about 300 underprivileged children, and this year we are still in need of toys for about 60 of those kids. There are several ways you can help. You can bring an item from the list below to 5050 and we will ensure that it gets delivered. You can also choose to sponsor a specific child or family directly, which involves purchasing at least two gifts per child. If you are interested in sponsoring a child, send a message to Helen Tocco with your preferred gender and age of child, and your email address, and she will help pair you up. Finally, if you don’t have time to holiday shop, there is a link to make a donation through the website below. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. • Unwrapped gifts and/or gift cards for boys or girls ages 0-17 (about 300 children) • Wrapping paper, ribbon, tissue, gift tags, etc. for the parents to be able to wrap the gifts • Gift cards to Ralphs, Vons, Target, Walmart, etc. for parents to buy food to make holiday dinner • Gift certificates to stores like Claire’s, GameStop, the Gap, Best Buy, Ross, Kohl’s etc., are always great as well – especially for our teen clients, who love to shop and be able to pick out things for themselves You can find more information here: https://upliftfs.org/la-toy-drive-2019/ 7:30-8:30 Int/Adv 8:30-1am DANCE with DJ Tocco PRICE: Dance= $10 Dance + Class= $15 My favorite part..... It has always been a strong belief of mine that the music should have a little something for every one. Therefore, I have asked of my wonderful DJs that for every contemporary song they play, they play a blues and vice versa.... Thus creating a 50% blues 50% contemporary guarantee for the evening!
