Instructor: Candy Gearheart -- Beginner Level 1 Absolute Beginners -- Beginner Level 2 Experienced Beginner Ever wonder what this West Coast Swing dance craze is all about? West Coast Swing is one of the many versions of Swing dancing that have gained popularity these past few years. If you enjoy Jazz, Motown, & Rock & Roll, have you ever wondered what sort of dance you could do to some of the various Top 40 hits you hear on the radio today? Check out this smooth and groovy dance and join our 6-wk Beginner West Coast Swing class dance series followed by a West Coast Swing Practice Party, hosted by Jake Haning. What will be covered: * Essential lead and follow techniques, alongside West Coast Swing fundamentals, cool and most importantly *leadable* dance combinations. Who should attend: Absolute beginners are welcome, even those who have never danced before, or anyone who has experience dancing East Coast Swing, Salsa, Bachata, or who has any ballroom dance experience. Do I need a partner? No partner is required, but is encouraged. What should I wear? * Comfortable clothes like jeans, a nice shirt, shorts if you like... Shoes that slide and strap in. No slip on shoes for ladies, and generally no rubber sole shoes, because they tend to be sticky. But if you have tennis shoes that are slick soled, then wear them and see how you feel dancing in them.
