Fusion Connection is here for beginners and dance veterans alike. Join us in the universal partner dance! Fusion in is the melting pot for all partner dance styles to mingle and co-create. This partner dance has no predetermined patterns. It's a celebration of improvisation in the moment. Come share in one of the newest, fastest growing partner dances in the U.S. Fusion Connection regularly has people trying out partner dance for the first time. We're very supportive of new dancers! Please ask your hosts Alex and Tzoul for dances and pointers if you're new to Fusion. You don't need to bring a partner to join us. Water and light snacks provided. Beginner friendly class at 6pm. Arrive a bit early to get situated. Bring comfortable, supportive shoes with minimal tread, or hard soles. Dancing in socks can be a last resort. Bare feet are discouraged. CLASS ✨ 6:00-7:00pm: Contact//Fusion Foundations 🧬 We'll have a dynamic duo Ele Jones and Jess Robinson instructing us. Ele carries their 17 years and Jess their 9+ years of background in contact improvisation and movement practices into the creativity and structure of their fusion dance styles. In this all-levels class, they will introduce intersecting and foundational concepts from both contact improvisation and fusion dance that can awaken new pathways to movement. This class is designed to help folks with a contact background feel more confident to utilize their strengths in fusion spaces, and for partner dancers of all kinds to feel more freedom and play in their dances. Get ready to be creative, play, and shake up your dance with these fluid improvisation concepts and exercises! MUSIC 🎶 A couple of long time Nevada County Fusion curators will return to get us grooving for the night! 7:00-8:30pm: Andy Cerrona will get us started as our first DJ, playing tunes to bring the body and heart into sultry bliss. Downtempo, melodic, world influences. 8:30-10:00pm: Nancy Shanteau brings a musical adventure that blends bangers with sexy downtempo vibes -- a true fusion of cultures, dance styles and rhythms that keeps you on the dance floor!
