A journey for the mind, body, and senses through two millennia of art inspired by dance from South and Southeast Asia and the Himalayas, “Beyond Bollywood: 2000 Years of Dance in Art” reveals the enduring capacity of dance to inspire a diverse range of artists and audiences alike through an array of historic and contemporary sculpture, painting, textiles, jewelry, and photographs. Imagine a scene from a Bollywood film in the middle of a beautiful space, swirling colors, vibrant rhythms, joyful energy, and contagious beats-that’s Non Stop Bhangra. Featuring dance lesson and dance performances with Dholrhythms Dance Company, the Non Stop Bhangra DJ collective, alongside live dhol drummers, henna, drinks, exhibition tours, and more, the evening will be a treat for the eyes and ears and a one-of-a-kind experience.
