Working as a duo the group has pioneered a new sound, which combines the worldly melodic lines of live handpan with the grooving bass and heavy rhythms of Hip Hop and EDM. Deep Seize is based in Brattleboro, Vermont. This will be their first time playing for ABCD Jam! Check them out here: https://www.wyattandrews.com/deepseize _______________ Getting Out of the Way / Getting In the Way! 8 Week Contact Improv Series with Moti March 19 - May 7 (Tuesdays 6:30-8pm) Connection/Separation, Entering/Exiting, Control/Surrender - Explore a deeper range of possibilities outside the binary. Let's find spaciousness in our dances where we can step back and gain perspective on a dance and step back in with confidence. Getting out of our own way means learning to let go of stories about ourselves and others that we hold onto and get stuck in repetitive loops. Sometimes we need to examine and redefine stories we may have about "abandoning" our dance partner or "interrupting" a "precious moment". Learn to become what I call a "co-obstacle" - one who interrupts patterns cooperatively with presence and love. This series will have a focus on trios - the trio being ripe for experiencing the consequences of entering and exiting a dance. Learn to trust your intuitions about when a dance is permeable or not. Enter a world where interruption and flow are one and the same. MOTI ZEMELMAN, MFA As your host and teacher I bring 30 years of CI experience to share. Based in Montague MA, I have taught and performed across USA, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Europe and Israel. Over the last 10 years in my desire to integrate communication and intimacy skills in teaching and life I have studied Non-violent communication, Tantra, Butoh, Byron Katie's "The Work" and most recently Betty Martin's "Wheel of Consent". I have been both a teacher and a board member at Earthdance Retreat Center in Plainfield, MA where I currently direct the Touch&Play Festival. I am a featured dancer in Sanford Lewis' documentary film about CI "An Intimate Dance."
