★ African Beats & Pieces ★ is a regular event series in Berlin dedicated since 2017 to the music made in Africa and throughout its diaspora. With a special focus on contemporary and lesser-known artists, we strive to showcase the diversity of sounds and songs the continent has to offer, doing so through theme-specific parties involving passionate diggers & DJs. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ LOVE, what else is there anyway? This year we'll use the eve of Valentine's Day as just another excuse to dance our hearts off to rare & fun African music! Let's celebrate that beautiful feeling by (re-)discovering amazing African songs dedicated to love, lovers & loving, spanning 60 years of unabashed passion! This emotional journey will take us from the sweetest Ghana/Naija Afrobeats bangers to the sweatiest Afro-Zouk 80's hits, from trance-inducing Tsapiky tracks to hot-blooded Benga hits, from heartfelt Raï ballads to the most poignant Rumba lyrics, from heartwrenching High-Life numbers to intense Bikutsi heat!
