The course is for anyone that wants to feel the energy and joy of traditional African dance or develop as a dancer. At the same time this is a useful course for you who do any other kind of swing dance since Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz and Blues are African American dance forms but with their roots in African traditions. The people who were taken as slaves from different parts of Africa brought with them there way of moving, their connection with the drum och the rhythm and their presence in their way of telling stories through singing and dancing.
Level: Mixed level where both newer and advanced dancers will feel challenged. You should have some dance back ground to be ready to be challenged with foot works and rhythm.
The course is an invitation to develop as a dancer and receive new tools and experiences to find your own dance.
Teacher: Henry Kaboe, dancer and percussionist from Tanzania. Henry is famous for his capacity of always spreading positive energy with a. Lot of presence and power. Since Henry is both a dancer and a percussionist he will mix recorded music with playing live drums after showing you the steps. Be ready to even get down to some singing…
