Afro Cuban Drumming on Saturdays.

This is an 8 week Afro Cuban percussion course led by local percussionist Sinuhe Pacheco. Sinuhe has travelled to Cuba 3 times and has also lived in Cuba for 2 years studying intensely with Cuban master percussionists. This course is designed for anyone at a beginner level, it will also benefit existing dancers and musicians wanting to expand there knowledge in this musical art form. Afro Cuban rhythms can be applied to many different genres including and not limited to Salsa, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Hip Hop, Pop, Fusion, Flamenco and many more styles… The student after the 8 week course will gain an understanding of how the rhythm section works in a Salsa band or Latin Jazz outfit. This course will teach you Conga technique and rhythms, as well as minor percussion inlcuding the Clave, Guiro, Cow Bell, Maracas and Shekere.. POPULAR RHYTHMS Son/Tumbao, Bolero, Cha Cha Cha.
