Come out for an AFRO HOUSE workshop with Nabaggala Lilian Maxmillian! This is workshop #5 out of the summer workshop series. If you're already enrolled in the workshop series, come through to learn from an amazing guest teacher who’s come all the way from Uganda! If you're not enrolled, anyone is welcome to drop in for $10. - ABOUT THE TEACHER - Nabaggala Lilian Maxmillian is a Ugandan female dance performer, choreographer, and teacher, event host/organizer, wardrobe stylist, make-up artist and artist.As a dancer, her specialties are waacking, Ugandan traditional dances, Latin dances, Afro-house and contemporary dance. For several years, she has mentored various young girls and men around East Africa through her choreography and dance workshops. Her mentoring focusses on developing young peoples dance skills, social skills, confidence and build on their transferable skills within school, social and work contexts so they can go out into the world as well rounded individuals. The organizations she has worked with in regards to her mentoring and teaching are Batalo East Academy, Break Dance project Uganda and The cultural avenue. Through her passion and commitment to this work she has been able to extend her network not only in Uganda but abroad as well. - LOGISTICS - Date: Tuesday, August 6 8PM - 10PM Location: Upper Sproul Cost: $10 drop in, no payment if you're registered in class series Who: EVERYONE! This event is ASUC sponsored and ADA accessible! - ABOUT EXP DANCE - EXP aims to create an open and vibrant community where dancers of all levels can come together to experiment with their craft, learn from one another, and grow. We wish to instill in our members the confidence to express one's self more freely and meaningfully, whether that be through choreography or freestyle.
