AFRO-LATIN DANCE WEEKENDER with Regan & Candice Christmas!!

Save the date!!!!! Regan Christmas (Durban) & Candice Christmas (Cape Town) are the directors of the Paradiso Academy in Cape Town. They bring a combined 18 years of Salsa / Bachata / Kizomba experience having opened the school in 2007. The Paradiso Academy is the largest studio in Cape Town DEDICATED to Afro-Latin dance and Regan & Candi are the only FULL TIME teachers, having created a brand and a career as SA's premier Afro-Latin dance school. If you were at the Cape Town Salsa Festival you would have seen their breathtaking performances on the stage, danced with their well-trained students, and perhaps even learned in their classes. They have been absent from Durban for a while, but are planning to come more regularly, sharing their incredible pedagogy as well as their passion for music; dance and people. WEEKEND SCHEDULE: FRI 17 March - Join us for a party with an exhilarating performance by the stars, Regan & Candice. Venue - Vivo, Umhlanga Rocks. SUN 19 March - Dance workshops for all levels, beginners to advanced welcome WORKSHOPS SCHEDULE: Sunday Beginners (local teacher), Intermediate to advanced (Regan & Candice) 11:00 to 12:00 - FOUNDATIONS We start the progressive day of workshops with Afro-Latin Body Movement, basic movement, Cuban body movement. Suitable for Salsa; Bachata and Kizomba styles. 12:00 - 13:00 - TURNS & SPINS We follow up with balance, posture and core exercises, along with other techniques to improve turning, while sharing the world famous Santo Rico spin technique! 13:00 - 13:50 - LUNCH Regan & Candice would love to break bread with the Durban Salsa community, answering any questions and giving valuable advice for budding to experienced dancers. 14:00 - 15:00 - LADIES & GENTS STYLING Continuing the program, guys and girls will split up and join the stars separately for valuable advice on how to dance in a more masculine/feminine way, while using footwork and styling ALONG WITH the techniques acquired in the previous workshops. Suitable for Salsa; Bachata and Kizomba styles. 15:00 - 16:00 - PARTNERWORK Rounding up the fun and informative day of workshops, Regan & Candice will teach dancers how to partner dance with style and grace, groove and connection. Suitable for Salsa; Bachata and Kizomba styles. Get ready, it seems like March will be the most exciting month in Durban!!!
