Workshop and party by Aalborg Salsaforening on Saturday
April 6th, kl. 18-24, at Kulturbroen Program for the night: 18h00: we open the doors 18h15-19h15: afro orishas 19h30-21h00: rumba guaguanco 21h00-24h00: social dancing with salsa, bachata and kizomba The instructor - Alessandro studied and graduated as a dancer of Cuban folkloric dances at the Mentagala Academy based in Verona (Italy) and Guanajay (Cuba). He is licensed to teach with FIDS (Italian Sports Dance Federation) and has taught salsa, rumba, son and afro in Italy and Germany. Afro Workshop - open level, 60min duration, no previous afro experience required, salsa experience recommended (6 months minimum) The study of Afro dances addresses fundamental techniques and interpretation, stylistic heritage in every Cuban dance - including salsa. In the workshop we will address the main topics including posture, body isolation and coordination, by learning and practicing a specific Orisha. The techniques can be incorporated into salsa. The workshop is by its nature intensive, suggested comfortable clothes, bring water and a towel. Rumba Workshop - open level, 90 min duration, no prior experience in rumba required, minimum 6 months salsa experience recommended Cuban rumba is a family of musical genres and dances that we say is "the mother" of current salsa. The study of Cuban rumba gives the dancer elegant movements and advanced dance techniques that can be incorporated into salsa. In the workshop we will cover basic techniques, proper torso movement and the most important rhythmic elements of rumba (mainly guaguanco). The workshop is by its nature intensive. Suggested comfortable clothes, water and a towel.
