AGUAS Carnaval-Dance and Theatre Performance Workshop

Summary: A Kid + Parent/Carer Dance-Theatre workshop, instructed by Milena Suarez from Salsita Kids. Description: This is a child-friendly Dance and theatre performance workshop, instructed by by Milena Suarez from Colombia. As part of the 'AGUAS Latin Festival', it will have a fantastic workshop as well as participant the showcase at MONA Lawns on 28 Jannuary 2023. Milena Suarez from Salsita is a Colombian actress, dancer and entrepreneur based in Hobart. She has acted in multiple local stage productions, winning best actress at Onefest in Hobart. She has worked as a salsa teacher in her local studio and has performed at multiple events and festivals including Harmony Week, Latino Vibes Festival, South Hobart Block Party, Hanging Garden and many more. She is passionate about ancestral health and seeks to align herself in projects that cherish and showcase our roots, heritage and wise traditions. The workshop aims to show the importance of conserving the finite resources of this planet including water and the sacred act of passing down ancestral wisdom from one generation to the next. The passage of time, the flow of nature, the hard work and the respect for the land that got us here, our common story is encapsulated in the dramatic choreography and ancestral sounds so we don’t just remember the message, but we live it and breath it too.
