That's right she helped create the dance. Dubbed the “Queen of Zouk Lambada”, Renata Pecanha is the most well known female Zouk dancer in Brazil and one of the most sought after Zouk professors in the entire world. In the 90’s Renata and her dance partner at the time Adilo Porto played a huge role in changing what was Lamba-Zouk or Lambada into what we know today as Modern Zouk or “Rio Style” Zouk. Renata has co-created many of the possibilities we can experience in zouk today with her artistic mind and the way she translates that into safe technique for dancers! Through her work these last decades developing the dance & her continued efforts to spread this dance around the world Renata has refined her teaching techniques in Zouk to be the absolute best you can find on the planet. She is the only zouk school in Brazil who has expanded her brand in the United States with; “Renata Pecanha USA”. Renata worked with Jaime Arôxa’s Company for 6 years, Brazil’s premier dance academy. She is a highly sought after instructor at Zouk congresses throughout Brazil ,Europe, North America, Australia and other countries such as the International Congress of Zouk Lambada in Porto Seguro and Zouk Lovers in Holland. As well as organizing Zouk Lambada events such as Zouk’n Rio, and the International Congress of Zouk Lambada in Rio de Janeiro, Renata has choreographed and danced for many reputable television shows and soap operas in Brazil. Renata Peçanha is a registered professional dancer with the Brazilian Association of Dança de Salão and is a highly versatile instructor and performer. She is recognized around the world as one of the largest influences in what zouk is today. Her professional career has many accomplishments to share however non more inspiring than her career creating this beautiful dance that we love called Zouk! Her repetoire includes Zouk Lambada, Pourterican and Cuban Salsa, Samba de Gafieira, Forró, Merengue, Soltinho, Jive, Rhumba, Chá Chá Chá,o Bolero, Waltz, Maxixe, She has also background in Jazz Dance, Modern Dance ,Contemporary dance and Ballet. He has a reputation as being one of the best and most technical zouk dance instructors in the market today. He started dancing in 1999, when he joined Leandro Ferreira’s dance company, where he stayed for four years and began to hone his skills in samba, bolero and east coast swing. Since then, he has been a member of various dance companies including Carol Marques’ ballroom dance company, where he performed for two years and later of Renata Peçanha’s illustrious dance company, in 2007. Clinton has won various awards in competitions, including third place in the II International Zouk and Lambada Congress in Rio de Janeiro and after only one month of partnership and training with Cristi Boone, they placed among the top ten in the 3rd International Zouk and Lambada Congress of Rio de Janeiro Competition. Since beginning his partnership with Cristi, he has had the opportunity to teach and perform in world-renowned zouk events throughout Brazil and Europe, & all over North America. Since 2016 till now living in Los Angeles - United States improving the dance community there founder of Renata Pecanha USA (Los Angeles) & (Seattle) and Rio is Here Dance Festival located in OC area, has being in various events all over USA like: Zouk Me SF, LA Zouk Congress, LA Fusion Festival and other along with workshops in many different places across the country. ********************ZoukPool************************ To grow we must all support one another. This sometimes means driving to far places for socials, sometimes 2 - 3 hrs away. We want to help! Zouk Pool will be a carpool system that will give free entrance to socials for whoever is driving. There are some requirement/ guidelines to follow by: 1- Minimum of 4 people carpooling. (Including driver) 2- Minimum of 30 mins away from social. 3- All people in Carpool MUST RSVP "Going" to event 24hrs in advance and give names to host of social 24hr in advance as well. (No Brazilian time!)
