Alamo City SCREAM Revival @ Monday Night Swing Finale!

It's that time of the year again! We celebrate one of our most favorite themes of the year. This time, it's particularly special because this will be our last night at The San Antonio Firefighter's Association Banquet Hall before our relocation to our new venue which we will be announcing tomorrow! To help us celebrate our final night at the San Antonio Firefighter's Banquet Hall, we are bringing back 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 & 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀! With their high energy performance, they are a perfect band to provide all the swing jazz vibes. Remember, this is NOT the end of our weekly swing dance events. We are simply relocating to a new venue starting November 1st! Please read the details below! Spread the word! This class is available every Monday night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey. This class will cover the main fundamentals of swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement. ＬＩＮＤＹ　ＨＯＰ　２ 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Sheri Tate & Jonathan Vargas 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Following Lindy Hop 1, Lindy 2 will cover intermediate to some advanced concepts such as re-directional 8 count moves, breaks or pauses in the 8 count for musicality, connection exercises and music education. NOTE: Lindy Hop 2 will NOT cover basics of Lindy 1 and it is recommended to be familiar with triple steps, weight shifting, counter balance control & basic fundamentals of Lindy Hop 1 before entering Lindy Hop 2. NOTE: While these classes are available each week, please know that it takes personal commitment to improve your dancing. This may include self-practice, group practices, or private lessons with instructors. Growth requires pushing your limits & testing your potential. Dance is no exception to this rule. We are hosting a cross-over dance battle between Swing Dancers and Street Dancers! This type of event has been done before at different swing dance organizations overseas, but it has rarely been done in the states. We look forward to being the first in San Antonio to host this type of cross-over dance battle! If you are a swing dancer of any kind, whether it be Lindy Hop 6 or 8 Count, Charleston, Shag, Balboa, or Solo Jazz, and want to participate in this dance battle, please contact our President 𝗚𝗶𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 and he will add you to the dance battle roster! The details: The cross-over dance battle will consist of 3 rounds (3 songs). - 1st Round: Swing Dancers will dance to one song in the style of hip-hop & street. The Street Dancers will dance to one song in the style of Swing. - 2nd Round: Swing Dancers will dance to one song in their style of music. The Street Dancers will dance to one song in the style of their music. - 3rd Round: The Swing Dancers & Street dancers will dance to one song outside of their own styles. ****************ＮＥＷ　ＶＥＮＵＥ**************** 𝗕𝗜𝗚𝗭 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝟱𝟱𝟯𝟵 𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗔 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝟳𝟴𝟮𝟰𝟵 Yes that's right. We are relocating our Monday Night Swing! We have been preparing to relocate our Monday Nights for quite some time now as our contract with the San Antonio Firefighter's Banquet Hall will be ending effective November 1st 2025. The reason for this decision is due to major building renovations happening in November. These renovations will take at least 3 months to complete. Where is our new location going to be? 𝗕𝗜𝗚𝗭 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦! 𝗕𝗜𝗚𝗭 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦 is a burger joint & dance hall located off of UTSA Boulevard west bound of I-10. The dance hall has plenty of dance space, it is only 5 minutes from the San Antonio Firefighter's Banquet Hall, it has plenty of parking and you can order all the food you want from the burger joint. Lauren, the owner of Bigz Burgers has been very accommodating to us here at Alamo City Swing Revival. Because they host several other dance events each week, they are a very dance friendly business and have expressed great excitement to have us as a new tenant. Are we still hosting on Mondays? Unfortunately no. Due to the Bigz Burgers being closed on Mondays, we cannot continue to host on Mondays. As of right now, we have decided move our weekly events to 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 earlier in the evening. As of right now, we have not officially decided on the hours of operation, but they will most likely be from 6:30pm to 9pm. Furthermore, we may be hosting on the last week of each month on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 nights. The reason for this is because Bigz Burgers has contracted with the wrestling entertainment industry for the last Sunday of each month. Because of this, we are currently discussing the possibility of dedicating the last week of the month to college students. A 'College Night' per-say. PLEASE keep in mind that some of these details are subject to change, but we at least wanted to inform our community to maintain transparency. 🚗 PARKING: Crown Ridge Banquet Hall has plentiful parking at it's location. Be sure not to park anywhere a long the frontside curb of the venue. Please utilize all parking spaces as the lot can fit up to 300 vehicles. 🍺 𝐁.𝐘.𝐎.𝐁. We have been given permission from the SA Firefighters Association to allow our guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Water bottles & sodas will remain for sale. NOTE: We have the right to deny entry or to escort guests out of the premises if we feel they are above the legal intoxication limit, are disturbing the peace, or are attempting to serve alcohol to minors. Keep in mind that this is an all-ages event and while we allow adults to bring their own beverages we must remind everyone to be responsible and follow the law
