Albany 1st Friday Swing Dance-Bryan Brundige&His Piggly Wigglies

* Free lesson w/ JaSoN FENTON 7-8pm. No partner needed. * Dance 8-11pm to Bryan Brundige & His Piggly Wigglies. Admission including lesson: $15; $12 DFO; $10 students, seniors. The Piggly Wigglies are a dance band that embody the playfulness and humor of the swing era. They are a vocally-driven group, with vocal harmonies reminiscent of the Mills Brothers, Jimmie Lunceford and Lucky Millinder. The Piggly Wigglies typically perform as a quintet or sextet, featuring some of the best jazz performers in upstate NY. Musicians will be: Bryan Brundige (trombone), John Colonna (keyboards), Dylan Perrillo (bass), Graeme Francis (drums), plus clarinet. OMG!!!! Bryan Brundige & His Piggly Wigglies strive to always uplift their audience, whilst getting their feet movin’ and groovin’! Bryan is an Albany-based trombonist and vocalist, with a passion for trad, swing and WWII era jazz music. Born and raised in the Capital Region of NY, he has a great following and jazz community that he often works with. Over the last 10 years, Bryan has played several swing and blues dance events alike, ranging from local shows in and around Albany, to Montreal, Toronto, Austin, Denver, Chicago, Portland Oregon, Boston, Vancouver and many more. Beginners: Take the 7pm lesson with Jason Fenton and you'll be dancing with nice people within the hour! Spacious, attractive A/C hall with large wooden dance floor.
