In Vals: Feeling the Flow, we will explore the particular rhythm of Tango Vals and play with creating dynamics that put some spice into our interpretation of our favorite Valses. But did you know that Vals has its own special musicality and sequences that help you to better express what you hear when your favorite Vals plays in the Milonga? Vals music can inspire some very special structures that are repeated over and over again, known as “cadenas” (chains). We will dive deep into the different types of cadenas and explore how they fit into the Vals music. In this workshop, we’ll explore circular variaciones: simple movement patterns that flow together through turns, repetitions, and direction changes, all within one square meter. Perfect for building rhythm, coordination, creativity, and confidence during exciting musical moments — without bumping into the milonga’s tables!
