All day tango 2 - February edition - workshops food dance - 100% neo alt

Following the success of the event in October, we are doing it again. Three sequentially themed workshops will focus on possibilities from opening up the embrace and the expressive you. Followed by food and a milonga - neo style - with TWO excellent DJs - Chris and Chris UTN. Our event will be held at the lovely St Johns church in sunny Nottingham. The program is designed to appeal to anyone who loves fluid and dynamic tango. We will balance the event with Leader and Followers as much as possible and are offering a discounted price for those booking as a Lead Follow couple. Tea, coffee, and refreshments are provided through the day. Booking for workshops is essential, capacity is limited. Evening dance, can book in advance or pay on door. Registrations Couple - everything £75 Solo - everything £45 For other possibilities - dance only or workshops only - follow the ticket link :) the workshops There are three workshops with an overall theme of possibilities for the embrace. 14:00 - doors open for a warm up dance and getting settled in. 14:30 - The Berlin embrace and contra mano - how do they do it in Europe, and extending the possibilities to contra mano - Lorenzo & Ganka 16:00 - Breathwork and dynamics - sometimes its the small things that make a big difference. Exploring how to transition embraces and develop depth in the dance. Chris Storey 17:30 - Soltadas - Time to let go, and maybe go a step further - Chris Barnett & Alison Workshop Leaders Lorenzo & Ganka - long time itinerant neo tango lovers who have brought the European neo ethos to the East Midlands and been a pivotal part of growing the neo and alt scene through their Creative Tango Nottingham collaboration -teaching, DJing and promoting a new neo approach to tango. Chris & Alison from Urban Tango Nights - they have a well deserved name for themselves as teachers from the Isle of Wight to Yorkshire, and South Wales to Essex. We are delighted to welcome them back to Nottingham so that they can again stretch your ideas of what you can do. Chris Storey & Anna - stalwarts of the tango scene. Chris is a familiar face for many as a DJ, teacher and dancer, and often seen at continental tango events. Anna joins him to help out in this special workshop. the evening Begins with a buffet after the last workshop. We will put out tables and eat communally, making friends, chatting and taking the time to rest and prepare for the evenings dancing. We then clear up and let the evening dance start at 19:15 with two fabulous DJs! DJ Chris - Urban Tango Nights DJ Chris Storey Music policy is 100% neo / alt - expect Chris and Chris to move the floor! VDJ Lorenzo will provide visuals and lighting. If this is your first neo dance then : -Think alt tango and then some more -Dress comfortably. Have fun -You can invite anyone in any polite way to dance. No need to wait to be asked. You can of course do the cabaceo thing if you like. -This will be a tanda free zone. You dance as much as you would like together, and then smile and say thanks. - Queer tango and changing roles is great and very much encouraged the venue The church has lovely facilities including a fully equipped kitchen. There is private space to change and coat rails. We are upstairs in the hall. When you arrive you will need to come into the church grounds, head for the main entrance, and up the stairs. You will find us there. staying over There are three hotels within a few minutes walk; Best Western , Mercure, and the Cotswold Many more hotels in Nottingham City Centre which is a 10 minute drive or short bus ride. parking There is plentiful free parking on the surrounding residential roads. The carpark next to the children's playground is private so please do not use.
