This seven piece supergroup will rock your socks off, comprised of members from all over the nation, including New York City, Columbus, and right here in St. Petersburg! Comprised of several band leaders in their own right (and including several dancers), this band will be hot and sweet and smooth and raunchy and all the verbs you could possibly want a dance band to be! Located in the Deuces Corridor in South St. Pete, the Manhattan was the apex for art and music in the African-American community, the area even being called ‘The Harlem of the South’ by some. All the greats, such as Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughn, Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, Cab Calloway, Lionel Hampton & more walked and swung in these hallowed halls! Residents of the time even called the venue 'The Home of the Happy Feet', much like the Savoy in Harlem.
