About this Event

Donate what you can. Latin Music, drinks, finger food, and dancing. Perfect way to end your weekend :) To my beloved dance community, My name is Noelia — founder and director of the newly formed Almadura Dance Company. After 10 beautiful years in the DMV dance scene, I finally took the leap to start a team of my own. I’ll admit, I hesitated for a long time. I knew what it took to lead — the responsibility, the long nights, the emotional weight of showing up for others — but something in my heart told me it was time. And I can honestly say… it has been one of the most fulfilling decisions of my life. Watching this group of dancers grow, heal, and find family within each other has reminded me why I fell in love with dance in the first place. They inspire me to be better every day. <3 Our mission at Almadura is to heal through dance — to feed the spirit through movement and inspire others to do the same. Every rehearsal, we pour pieces of our stories into this choreography — our triumphs, heartbreaks, laughter, and resilience. What we’re building isn’t just a show… it’s a reflection of each of us and what community can do when we come together with purpose and lead with love. God willing, we will debut our piece at the Viva La Bachata Weekender (Nov 1st) — but before we do, we’re hosting our first-ever fundraiser: a celebration of art, gratitude, and community. I want to give a special shout out to Abraham from Crown Dance Studio for donating his space — a home that has been foundational to both my growth and our local dance scene. His generosity represents exactly what this community is about: lifting each other up. This community has truly shaped me — as a dancer, as a leader, and as a person. Every dance, every social, every class, every mentor, and every friendship built on the dance floor has led me here. I’m endlessly grateful for the people and spaces that have poured into me, and now I want to pour that love back. If you’ve ever been on a dance team, you know how much heart and sacrifice it takes — and yes, how many costs come with it (costumes, shoes, travel etc.). That’s why we’re asking for your support — not just as dancers, but as people who believe in the power of art to heal the collective. In return, we’ll be sharing: Homemade finger food from our very own Jackie A Bachata class with Zacarri & the Almadura team Music and vibes by DJ Zacarri And maybe… a surprise batch of #NoeliasEmpanadas Plus, It all happens in one of my favorite months — so bring your Halloween & autumn energy and come dance with us. If you can’t make it but feel it in your heart to donate, we’ll receive it with immense gratitude. Your support reminds us that what we’re doing matters. Here’s to art that heals, connects, and reminds us that we’re exactly where we’re meant to be. With love and deep appreciation,Yours truly,Noelia
