Competitors are ranked individually during the prelims. Semi-Finals: The top 4 leaders and 4 followers advance to the Semi-finals. Competitors are randomly paired, dancing together for a full song (1 min each for each couple). Judges select the best couple from each pairing to proceed to the final. Final: Finalists are randomly paired and judged as a couple. The winning couple is selected by the judges. Judging Criteria: Fundamentals: Technique, frame, connection, Salsa rhythm, quality of moves. Musicality: Moves that fit the music, hitting the breaks. Showmanship: Crowd-pleasing moves, energy, flashy footwork, and attire. Minimum Participants: 10 couples are required for the J&J competition to go ahead.
