We will be holding 'An Evening of Tangosutra' to help support the operational costs for the 2023 Freedom Plaza outdoor milonga season. We hope you will be able to attend. Please keep in mind Paypal charges a nominal transaction fee of a couple of dollars. Masha Abakolnikova Masha is a professional tango dancer and teacher with over a decade of experience. Formerly the Executive Director of an arts-education DC-based non-profit, Masha has helped build the Washington DC's tango community through outreach programs, regular classes, special and ongoing events and much more. She is known for her clarity, musicality and connection, as well as a warm, engaging teaching style. To fully embrace this dance Masha has immersed herself in studying both leading and following roles and is often seen switching between both on the social dance floor. She is passionate about finding the unique key to improvement for each student and she emphasizes individual technique and natural movement as the foundation for a deep tango connection. Masha has traveled all around the world to study and dance tango, including the US, Argentina and Europe. Corina Tufa-Dragos Corina is one of those people who cannot sit down when the right music starts to play. She actually cannot sit down when the wrong song starts either. The dance comes first, and it opens the door for new musical discoveries. Her tango journey followed the same path: the dance, then the love for the music. In her desire to learn, she volunteered to DJ at Pablo’s Practica in Washington DC. When she thinks about the next tanda she tries to understand the feelings of the dancers and hopes to find those tangos that would resonate best with the moment.
