El Encuentro is excited to feature two accomplished artists exploring the depth of traditional tango. Winner of the 2017 Mundial with her partner German Ballejo, MAGDALENA GUTIERREZ, has taught and performed in more than 40 countries. Her dance is defined by elegance and precision. LILIANA CHENLO is a renowned tango master, dancer, and choreographer from Buenos Aires with over twenty years of international experience. Developing a refined technique and expressive artistry she has mastered both leader and follower roles—with the rare ability to switch seamlessly, even dancing in heels in both positions. NOTE: Magdalena & Lily will be offering extraordinary workshops for leaders & followers on Saturday & Sunday. Magdalena and Lily will teach at 9pm. The class will focus on barrida combinations with change of direction. This is sure to be a valuable class. Another extraordinary woman is our DJ Carolyn Attanucci whose music so impressed us when we heard her at TangoPlus that we asked her to be a part of this very special night. After everyone has enjoyed almost two hours of Carolyn's great selections, we will bring up the lights as Magdalena and Lily take to the floor to perform.
