“Argentine Tango”

“Argentine Tango” This 1 hour 15 minute workshop is designed to introduce you to the art of Argentine Tango. It will focus on the physical interpretation of the music, the interaction and connection between the couple, and explore foundations of momentum and alignment, all the while giving you an in depth perspective of the culture, philosophy, and musicality of Argentine Tango. Within the class, you will gain a repertory of traditional patterns that are not only useful, but also impressive. At the same time, you’ll gain an understanding of the various styles of movement that Tango has to offer. We will also draw parallels and distinctions between the Argentine Tango and the Ballroom Tango. At the conclusion of the workshop, instructors Edwin and Amberlyn will show us a demonstration of the dance.
