About this Event

Phil French, our Guest Teacher for the Summer, has made an excellent job of keeping the spirit of the 'Tango of the Streets' alive and well on the Island during difficult times, helping Dancers to understand that for Argentine Tango to survive as a unique and special style with an Intensity and Passion unparalled in Ballroomised or 'Show' versions, Connection and Musicality must *always* be put before teaching 'Moves' and 'Styling'... Now, from September, Mandy and Basil return from their long summer break Dancing and Teaching in Portugal to take the helm again every Wednesday at the gorgeous Chapel at the YMCA Shanklin. As ever, they'll be presenting Tango as a simple dance to be used and **enjoyed** from day one, but with a life time of possibilities to explore, *not* as a 'hard' dance to master... Doors Open at 19.45, First Class (20.00) focusses on learning and improving core technique with regular courses for New Beginners, Second Class (21.00 - for more experienced Tangueros who also attend and support the first class) further develops your connection and musicality in order to comfortably dance Tango in any setting to a wide variety of music (Modern as well as Traditional..) Then plenty of Social Dancing to Mandy's famous mix of music! - Just £8.00/nite drop-in price (all evening - includes 50p donation to Chapel Restoration Fund) Remember - these are the only classes either side of the Solent taught by a full time professional Tango Teaching couple with a weath of International teaching experience. If you're serious about learning Tango, or just want to get a **lot** more fun out of your lessons, then you KNOW where to come! TANGO - don't just Learn it, DANCE it. R.O.A.R.
