About this Event

The Argyle Rhythm Aces is a growing roster of traditional Jazz lovers, looking to entertain you with a mix of danceable Hot Jazz and Ragtime favourites from the 1920s and 1930s. You might well know most musicians from playing together in the Tenement Jazz Band. The line-up for the Argyle Rhythm Aces for the evening is Steve Feast on tenor saxophone, Chuck Dearness on the trumpet, John Youngs playing the guitar, Rory Clark on the mighty sousaphone and Mike Kearney hammering the piano and Vid Gobac the drums. The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club offers on Fridays live Jazz music in a relaxed club house atmosphere, with a bar and an excellent, wooden dance floor. The music is generally suitable for dancing Foxtrot and Swing (Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa). Come along to listen to superb Jazz and to dance the evening away! No need to book in advance, just come along! The entry fee is £15 for non-members and £12 for members. Entry is free for accompanying carers and accompanied children. The fee can be paid at the door by card and cash. The main entrance is from Bangholm Terrace, with step-free access from Warriston Gardens corner Inverleith Row. Entrance fee and programme are subject to change.
