Atlanta’s Top Social Dancer Competition 2018 The Bachata edition... Hello everyone, so everything is clear on what is to take place here is information you need to know. Step 1. Registration Please Contact Alejandro Delatorre: [email protected] Front Desk the day of the competition. (Depending on spots) Fee: 35$ will be collected upon registration, if you do not pay your spot. You will not dance. Step 2. Competition Itinerary 1. Dancers will meet to discuss rules that will be post on event page: THE RULES No choreography required! Individuals may dress in fun, club style clothes. Individuals will be randomly partnered, 13 couples (26 people) 3 heats competition will be used to determine winner: 2 heats are in-group battles in which only 5 couples will remind and 8 will be eliminated. 4 each round. (please note, you will be switched after every group round, so thats 2 switches. Do not think you will dance with the same person the entire competition. ) Final 5 will dance solo in couple round. Best couple wins JUDGING CRITERIA 1. Musicality - How well the dancers interpret the music, its highs & lows, breaks, and various instruments & beats. 2. Partner Connection - How well the dancers connect with each other and how well they communicate with each other through dance. 3. Timing - Are they consistent with their timing? Or are they breaking on different counts every time? 4. Technique - how well the dancers execute the moves technically, clean spins, control, lead & follow technique 5. Representation of the style & enjoyment - How well they represent the style they are dancing. How much the dancers are enjoying the dancing. 6. Audience response Step 3. Collect prize!!
