Ategenos 2: Cacao Ceremony & Ecstatic Dance

Ategenos is the Celtic word for Rebirth (ah-the-gen-awss) - Rebirth; an incarnation or manifestation of a trait, talent, concept, spirit or divinity into human form. Many associate winter with Death. Lets meet it with Love; Death is a vital part of the spiritual journey. .. with Winter comes the inevitable Spring, and with Death comes the inevitable Rebirth.. On the precipice of the Spring Equinox, we will bring closure to the medicinal season of winter and celebrate our movement into spring. .. again and again we rise and fall, carrying with us new capacities and new tasks to bring into a new cycle. Dance with us into a better cycle. The Celtic concept of rebirth/reincarnation (ategenos) held the belief that we are born with blessings from deities, ancestors and great heroes from generations past. These blessings can be as simple as the color of our eyes or as profound as gifted talents or a given purpose. This experience will be a conscious decision, as a community, to bring intentionality into what the wisdom of winter has given us, internalize it, and turn it into action in the spring. We will move with this idea in a cacao ceremony followed by a playful movement and embodiment practice to internalize this energy to bring it to the forefront of our intention so we can embrace it in the sacred space of Ecstatic Dance.
