Formulaire d'inscription aux auditions | Registration form for auditions: https://forms.gle/5f4Q5guuFbyvmGid6 Troupes de Lindy Hop, Balboa et Solo Jazz 2019-2020 chez Swing ConneXion, nous voici nous voilà! * * * * * Sunny Side Up (Dimanches 18h-20h, début 15 septembre): Pour une première (ou deuxième ou troisième!) expérience en troupes de Lindy Hop à Swing ConneXion, c'est la bonne place! Prérequis: connaissance fonctionnelle des mouvements de base du Lindy Hop (swingout, circle, mouvements en 6 temps, triples, kick step) Focus: Principalement sur la continuité de l'apprentissage du Lindy Hop mais aussi familiarisation avec les grands principes du travail d'équipe (alignements, cleaning, timing), ainsi qu'une introduction au bases acrobatiques avec des mini-lifts et des tricks à la portée de tous. * * * * * The Misbehavers: Coachs Zack et Maryse (Lundis, 20h30-22h, début 16 septembre): Si vous avez complété Swing 6, avez fait de une à trois années en tant que troupiste en Lindy Hop, et êtes prêt/e à rehausser votre danse, pourquoi ne pas tenter votre chance avec les Misbehavers? Focus: Équipe colorée et variée, les Misbehavers s'engagent à vous faire découvrir un peu plus du large paysage qu'offre le Lindy Hop. Improvisation, les multiples facettes de la connexion, nouveaux rythmes, slow Lindy, fast Lindy, Charleston, chorégraphies de feu, tout y passe! Option acrobatique: Les Misbehavers vous sont aussi offerts avec une option acrobatique! Vous avez aimé votre contact avec les notions acrobatiques? Les aerials vous intéressent? Vous aurez l'option d'ajouter une heure par semaine pour venir parfaire, pousser et pratiquer vos acrobaties (sujet à un nombre minimum d'inscriptions). * * * * * Ants in the Pants: Coachs Zack et Maryse (Dimanches, 16h-17h30, début 15 septembre): La troupe qui bouge, Ants in the Pants est la troupe où aller pour travailler ses acrobaties. Si vous avez déjà à votre actif quelques années de troupes, quelques acrobaties (par exemple: pancake, knicker bocker, backflip, around the back), de l'expérience acrobatique, et une certaine aisance à des tempos plus élevés, joignez-vous à cette équipe de voltigeurs! Focus: Un hommage aux traditionnels numéros de Lindy Hop hauts en couleurs des années 40 et 50, attendez-vous à ce que ça bouge, que ça soit rapide, et que ça vole! Volet acrobatique: Pour nous assurer d'offrir un environnement sécuritaire où on kick également some ass, une heure supplémentaire de pratique acrobatique mandatoire par semaine sera ajoutée, selon les horaires disponibles des troupistes. * * * * * We Got Rhythm (Dimanches 18h-20h, début 15 septembre): Notre équipe avancée dite "classique", où l'on pousse à fond les notions du travail d'équipe. Vous serez mis/es au défi au niveau des rythmes, des alignements, de la richesse du mouvement, du styling... Beaucoup de travail passionnant en perspective! Focus: Comme le nom le dit, We Got Rhythm met l'emphase sur la danse, sociale et chorégraphiée, les subtilités de la connexion et les racines du Lindy Hop. * * * * * Feathers (Dimanche 16h-17h30) - Coach Maude Frenette-Roy. début le 15 septembre. Pour un premier contact avec les troupes de solo jazz à Swing ConneXion, les Feathers sont un endroit idéal! Vous y travaillerez en parts égales l'improvisation, l'apprentissage de chorégraphies classiques et originales, la musicalité et la technique. Crtière d'admissibilité : Intérêt pour la musique Jazz/Swing, de la motivation, et un beau sourire! Wings of Swing (Lundi 20h30-22h) !!!!!!!!!!! - Coach Amélie. Début le 16 septembre. Une nouvelle troupe de solo "classique" pour la rentrée. D'un niveau intermédiaire, elle comprendra le package complet : technique, musicalité, improvisation et chorégraphies. Vous avez déjà des bases solides en solo jazz, et vous souhaitez pousser cela vers un niveau supérieur ? Vous êtes à la bonne place ! Crtière d'admissibilité : Une expérience précédente en solo jazz. Maitriser les notions de bounce, de posture, et de compréhension de la musique swing et jazz. Du vocabulaire de Jazz Step. Birds of Paradise (Lundis, 17h30-19h, début 16 septembre) - Coach Raphaël. L'équipe de solo jazz bien établie des Birds reprend cette année! Surtout axé sur vous en tant que danseur/se, le travail inclura peu de chorégraphie au profit de la technique générale, l'improvisation et l'approfondissement de notions de musicalité. Critère d'admissibilité : Connaître et comprendre le Shim-Sham. Être capable d'intervertir ses blocks de 4x8. Ornithology (Mercredis, 20h30-22h, début 18 septembre) - Coach Raphaël Vous trippez chorés et performance en solo? Ornithology c'est pour vous! Sans dire qu'on néglige (loin de là) la technique, Ornithology se concentrera sur l'apprentissage et la conception de chorégraphies, classique et originales. Critère d'admissibilité : Connaître et comprendre le Shim-Sham. Être capable d'intervertir ses blocks de 4x8. * * * * * Balboa ConneXion Coach: Zack et Maryse (mardis de 20h30 à 22h30). Début le 17 septembre: La plus ancienne troupe de Balboa au Canada revient encore cette année! Prérequis: Une base en Balboa (basic, tossout, out and in) * * * * * PRIX 2019-2020 ** Sujet à changement mais restera autour de ces eaux-là, garantie SCX! ** Troupes 1h30 - 80$ / mois Troupes 2h - 95$ / mois Troupes 1h30 avec option ou volet acrobatique - 120$ / mois * * * * * HORAIRE DES AUDITIONS Samedi 24 août Auditions de 13h à 17h. À faire si vous êtes intéressés par le volet acros et si vous auditionnez pour Ant’s in the pants. 16h: Ant’s in the Pants et We got Rhythm 16h45 Balboa Connexion. Si vous appliquez à plus d'une troupe, vous devez vous présenter à toutes les auditions. Si vous ne pouvez pas vous présenter le 24, aucune inquiétude, Indiquez-le dans les commentaires et nous trouverons un autre moment. * * * * ENGLISH VERSION * * * * Sunny Side Up (Sundays 6-8PM, starts Sept 15th): For a first (or second or third!) experience with Lindy Hop troupes at Swing ConneXion, that's the best place! Prerequisites: functional knowledge of basic Lindy Hop movements (swingout, circle, 6 count moves, triples, kick step) Focus: We will continue on our path in the wonderful world of Lindy Hop, but also familiarize ourselves with the specificities or teamwork (formations, cleaning, timing), and also provide an introduction to basic acrobatic knowledge accessible to all, like mini-lifts and tricks. * * * * * The Misbehavers (Mondays 8:30-10PM, starts Sept 16th): If you have completed Swing 6, have one to three years under your belt as a team member in Lindy Hop, and are ready to spice up your dancing, take a chance with the Misbehavers! Focus: A varied and colored team, the Misbehavers will make you discover a little more of the vast landscape that is Lindy Hop. Improv, connection and its multiple facets, new rhythms, Slow Lindy, Fast Lindy, Charleston, fired up routines, anything goes! Acrobatic Option: The Misbehavers are also offered with an acrobatic option! You liked your contact with acrobatic notions? You're curious about aerials? You will have the option during the week to spend an hour with dedicated teaching to perfect, push and practice your aerials (subject to a minimum of registrations). * * * * * Ants in the Pants (Sundays, 4-5:30PM, starts Sept 15th): The troupe that moves, Ants in the Pants is the place to work on your aerials. If you already have experience in multiple troupes, and can execute a selection of aerials (for example: pancake, knicker bocker, backflip, around the back), acrobatic experience, and a certain ease with faster tempos, join this team of high rollers! Focus: An homage to traditional Lindy Hop numbers from the 40s and 50s, expect it to shake, to roll, to be fast, and to fly around! Acrobatic Segment: To insure a secure environment where we can also kick some serious ass, an additional mandatory 1h practice during the week will be added, depending on the availability of the troupe members. * * * * * We Got Rhythm (Sundays 6-8PM, starts Sept 15th): Our "classic" advanced team, where we aim to push the notions of teamwork. You will be challenged with rhythms, formations, the complexity of movement, the styling... A lot of fascinating work in perspective! Focus: As the name hints, We Got Rhythm focuses on dancing, both social and choreographed, the subtelties of connection and the roots of what makes Lindy Hop, Lindy Hop. * * * * * Feathers: Coach TBA (Sundays 4PM, starts Sept 15th): For a first contact with solo jazz troupes at Swing ConneXion, the Feathers are an ideal place! You will work in equal parts on improv, learning classic and original choreographies, musicality and technique. * * * * * Wings of Swing: Mondays 20h30-22h, starts sept 16th. Coach Amelie. * * * * * Birds of Paradise (Inter-Adv, Mondays, 8:30-10PM, starts Sept 16th): Our solo jazzin' Birds are coming back this year! Focused on you as a dancer, the team will include very minimal choreography, instead putting the emphasis on improv, general technique and getting deeper into notions of musicality. * * * * * Ornithology (Inter-Adv, Wednesday 8:30PM, starts Sept 18th): Hooked to solo jazz routines and performance? Ornithology is for you! We're not neglecting technique, but Ornithology will focus on learning and creating routines, both classic and original. * * * * * Balboa ConneXion (with Zack Richard & Maryse Lebeau, TBA): The oldest Balboa troupe in Canada is back! Prerequisites: Balboa notions (Basic, Tossout, Out and Ins) PRICING 2018-2019 ** Subject to change, but will stay around this, it's our SCX guarantee! ** 1h30 Troupes: $80 / month 2h Troupes: $95 / month 1h30 Troupes plus aerials add-on: $120 / month * * * * * AUDITION SCHEDULE Saturday August 24th Audition schedule will be precised closer to the date and will occur between 1PM and 5PM. If you apply for more than one troupe, you must attend all pertaining auditions. If you can't make it on the 1st, advise us in the comments and we will find another time to audition you!
