Let's get ready for the 2nd annual Australian Rueda de Casino Festival & Championship - to be held on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th October 2014 in Sydney Australia. We are inviting dancers from around the world to come and party with us! THIS YEAR!!! we are excited to introduce a new FUN open category to the Australian Rueda de Casino Festival & Championship. This category is open to all street rueda dancers who may not be part of a large school, and will be freestyle only (no choreo or costumes required)! This event not only features a world class Rueda de Casino championship competition series, it also includes two days of workshops with professional Cuban dancers that will change your life forever, and 3 nights of unforgettable parties with a Cuban flavour! We are taking you on a journey of music, dance, culture and history with the sounds of Cuban music from the best DJs from Australia, plus performances from Cuban artists & schools showcasing their fantastic routines with style. The welcome party will be on Friday night 17th October at Randwick Labour Club, the event on Saturday and Sunday will be held at The Roundhouse, University of NSW, Sydney. Our previous event was held in October 2013, and brought together the best Rueda teams from across Australia and overseas to display their skills in the competition. This year is going to be even bigger and better, this will be a huge event with many fantastic workshops, parties and activities for dancers of any level with an interest in Cuban dancing, on par with any congress or festival!
