He has got interested in Kizomba primarily because of the partner connection and music embodiment that are such prominent features of this dance. With deep respect to roots and invention of future, Borisha is trying to balance lusophone and international music streams in his music sets and pool out the best from all sources. AWAKEN goes beyond music and dance. It explores communication between dance partners and question our everyday interpersonal relationship stigmas and fears. Close connecting dance over-bridges our expectations and social barriers and opens new possibilities in our interaction with others. At the same time it raises questions of trust, consent and objectification. AWAKEN is about music, dance, touch, connection, trust, awareness, sensuality, sexuality, reasoning, discourse, love, community, feminism, de-mystification, honesty, openness, challenge, respect, personal and social change, better world...
