A true blues artist at his heart, Frank conducted his research by buying classic blues recordings on records, long before the Internet was available. Over time, following his passion, he spent time with these famous surviving famous blues artists, learning their skills. His associations have included bluesmen Louis Meyers, Hubert Sumlin, Johnny ‘Bull Moose’ Walker and Junior Wells. He's been playing blues in clubs in New York City and featured on radio shows since 1990 with his band Big Frank & the Healers...formerly known as Mohair Sam. Never one to be still, ‘Big’ Frank Mirra continues to investigate and interpret blues music, especially the slide guitar.
