BACHATA 360 — 3-HOUR BACHATA INTENSIVE Three hours. Three incredible instructors. Three different dimensions of Bachata. Saturday 12 September | 3–6pm JT Dance Academy We’re bringing together Bachata Sensual, authentic Dominican Bachata and BachaZouk for one seriously good afternoon of training. TIAGO MENDES — BACHATA SENSUAL Explore the technique, connection and movement that make Bachata Sensual feel fluid, effortless and connected. CRISTINA ANEIROS — DOMINICAN BACHATA Learn authentic Dominican Bachata with one of Australia’s leading specialists. Cristina has been part of Brisbane’s Latin dance scene for more than 20 years and discovered Dominican Bachata in 2007. She has specialised in the style ever since, teaching it since 2017 and becoming known for her ability to break down intricate footwork, body movement and musical concepts in a way dancers can actually understand and use. This isn’t just about learning steps. Cristina brings the music, personal expression and culture that sit at the heart of Dominican Bachata. We’re incredibly grateful to have Cristina joining us and sharing her knowledge, experience and love of Dominican Bachata with the JT Dance Academy community. JT — BACHAZOUK Discover what happens when Bachata meets the movement possibilities of Brazilian Zouk. JT will explore BachaZouk, incorporating Zouk-inspired body and head movement into Bachata to create greater fluidity, control and expression — while focusing on the technique needed to make those movements feel natural and connected. And we’re not finishing at 6pm… 6–7pm — BBQ Hang around, eat, relax and get ready for the night. BYO drinks and bring a plate to share. 7–11pm — LATIN MIX SOCIAL Featuring special guest DJ Jean-Luc Lambs on the decks. We are super excited to have Jean-Luc joining us for the night. A much-loved and experienced DJ in the Latin dance community, we’re excited to finally have him behind the decks at JT Dance Academy, bringing his music and energy to our Latin Mix Social.
