Bachata Corazon in collaboration with Melbourne Salsa presents: Kim and Geo Melbourne tour For that special occasion, Kim and Geo originally from Canada will be teaching a bachata moderna workshop from 8:00pm!! About them: Kimberly, of Dominican and Colombian descent, was immersed in her Latin heritage, and its culture and music from an early age. Her interest in dance was seen in her early years growing up, as she exposed herself to various dance forms, including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Hip-hop, and Reggae. In early 2013, Kimberly, and her dance partner Geovanny, Co-founded Araguacu Latin Dance Company. Since the company’s initiation, they have travelled extensively to perform, compete and instruct, having participated in numerous local and international events in North America, Europe, and the Caribbean. Geovanny was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Coming from Guatemalan and Colombian parents, he was immersed in Latin music and culture from an early age. His immersion in the culture and music brought about a natural form of expression through dance. From the age of 5 yrs old he was exposed to, and started exploring street dances such as, Hip-hop, Reggae, Funk, Salsa, Bachata, Chacha, Merengue and Cumbia. After years of extensive training with some of the best in the business, Geovanny and his partner Kim made the decision to create and display their unique style and passion. In April of 2013, they founded Araguacu Latin Dance Company. Their dance company specializes in teaching the essence and natural rhythms of Traditional Bachata and Salsa On2. Apart from teaching weekly classes in Toronto, they have travelled extensively to compete, teach and perform at festivals in North America, Caribbean, and Europe. First-timers welcome! 7:00 - 8:00pm: level 2 (Intermediate) Popular leadable social floor moves as well as some unique variations, turn patterns, leading and following techniques, footwork, ladies' styling, intro to changes in timing, intro to musicality, intro to sensual moves, etiquette, safety tips. More time spent on breaking down level 2 moves. 8:00 - 9:30pm: workshops with Kim and Geo (advanced) sensual/modern bachata, partner connection, body rolls, waves, isolations, body manipulations, sexy ladies' styling technique, playing with the timing, more complex turn patterns.
