Bachata Dancing BOOTCAMP

Welcome to Bachata Bootcamp with pureSALSA! What is Bachata? Please see the videos posted, they convey more than I can type. Suffice to say it's one of the two national dances of the Dominican Republic. You haven't learned to move your hips, till you pick up Bachata. What is Bachata Bootcamp? This is a chance to pick up ALL the basics of social bachata dancing in one day. Similar content could be provided over 5 separate weeks, but this way you get it done in one day. Your only responsibility thereafter is to keep dancing so it doesn't go to waste ;) Cost: £20 - Concessions available for group bookings, and students: please enquire. That's £5 an hour - the typical cost per hour of classes throughout the UK. So you're definitely not being charged a premium for this opportunity. Basics of good movement. Hour 2: Putting together basic steps into a basic dance. Basics of dancefloor awareness. Hour 3: Introducing more turns and tools to improve your dancing. Hour 4: Putting all your tools together and finding your dance personality. You will have time to dance freely before the finish, and to ask questions of myself or assistants. What's required of you? You must bring suitable shoes: smooth soles, and no heels higher than 2.5 inches for dance novices. Shoes that grip too much will make turning difficult and may cause injury. Old dress shoes are usually perfectly fine. You must come prepared to enjoy yourself! Who will be teaching you? Myself, Will Quinn, director of pureSALSA, with 12+ years of dance experience, having learned from some of the best locally and internationally. I've been running Salsa and Bachata classes in Dundee for 4+years now. Julianna, my assistant, has been dancing for around 5 years now, is nothing short of an addict, and a regular traveller to salsa festivals in the UK and overseas. Other assistants drawn from my Intermediate classes may also be in attendance to support. Other information: Water and limited refreshments will be available on site, and there is a kitchen facility. You are welcome to bring packed lunches and eat at the venue. Otherwise we are completely central, and many Dundee eateries and shops are in a few seconds reach.
