Competition Information: RULES- Registration: FREE & $10 off showcase pass with discount code aquired at qualifying round. MUST PARTICIPATE IN A QUALIFYING ROUND (social dance with partner for 1 minute to bachata music of dj's choice) TO BE ELIGIBLE COMPETE. Qualifier Dates: Bachata Nights March 25th Salsa Explosion at Rice University April 1st Bachata Nights April 8th More Dates will be posted soon..... Competitors MUST be amateur dancers (dancing for less than 2 years and not being paid to dance or teach) Competition piece should be 1-2 mins Choreography and Music MUST be 90% Bachata Arials- NO Lifts - NO Tricks - YES (cannot leave the ground, 1 foot must be touching the dance floor at all times) Dips - YES Breaks - YES Multiple Spins - YES Male/Female couples only JUDGES- Javier Campines, Erica Reyna, and Jorjet Alcocer Professional dancers will be judging 5 categories worth 20 points each making 100 a perfect score. Categories: Technique, Musicality, Apperance, Difficulty, and Audience Reaction.
