These intensive weekends will occur quarterly(possibly more frequent in the future) and are designed to be heavy on technique, drills and learning (or re-learning) new things. Kat Arias is an amateur ballroom dancer, the former owner of the Élan DanceSport Center and the former Co-Director of DNC:2BEAT. She has a passion for Bachata and for performing and is currently the director of multiple teams based in DC: the DC Branch of the Daniel & Desiree World Team Project and the DC Branch of the Korke & Judith World HugDance Project. Kat is the Owner and Managing Director of the Ferocity Dance Company which has a studio location in Falls Church,VA. The Ferocity Dance Company was founded in 2012 and focuses on Bachata Fusion pieces: mixing ballroom as well as other dance styles with Bachata to create a distinct viewpoint and style. The Ferocity Dance Company also has a competitive group that will perform Bachata pieces to compete in National and International competitions. Kat has a passion for all things relating to Bachata in all of its variations. Although she focuses on Bachata fusion in her choreographies, she does what she can to maintain well versed in the many styles of Bachata that exist: Traditional, Modern, Romantica, Sensual, and Urban to name a few. She is currently the organizer of the DC Bachata Masters events and teaches her style of bachata (coined: FIERCE-chata) at various Congresses, Festival and special events on the National, and International level.
