BACHATA JACK & JILL
What is Bachata Jack & Jill?
In the Jack and Jill format, competing couples are randomly matched as leaders and followers. As an added challenge, the participants don't know which music they will be dancing to beforehand.
All couples will be dancing simultaneously.
Jack & Jill competitions involve multiple rounds, in each of which the dancers receive a new song and a new partner to dance each round with.
This allows the participants to demonstrate their ability to lead and follow correctly, as well as their styling, improvisation and technique, all of which are essential qualities for winning a J&J competition.
JACK & JILL RULES
• Every single Follower, as Leader, will receive an own number, which must be visibly attached to their back or leg before the Battles.
• A live Random Selection will match the pairs (leaders to followers) and its rematching system. It will be kept by changing pairs until the end of the competition.
• In all phases, all couples will dance simultaneously, surrounded by the judges, who are going to be individually evaluating dancer by dancer, during the rounds. It is possible that the dancers will be divided in two groups on the Preliminary phase.
• There will be a DJ sorting and randomly playing songs from different Bachata Styles each round.
• The Judges, producers and DJ will be in charge of the music selection in order to ensure a good level of the battles.
• Every single Dancer is meant to dance 3 rounds/different songs of 3 different Bachata styles in this phase.
• If the number of Followers is bigger than number of Leaders or opposite, it will be equalized on the next phase.
• The Semi Final phase will be splited in 3 rounds. It will be competed by a half number of Leaders and Followers of the Preliminary phase.
• The Final will be competed by 4 Leaders and 4 Followers, or a half number of Semi Finalists. In this phase every single Leader will match every single Follower so defining the best Leader and best Follower of the competition.

BACHATA BATTLE 1X1
What is a Bachata Battle 1x1?
Dance battles are a playful way for dancers to demonstrate their skills in one-on-one competition.
Although they were mostly popularised by hip-hop and breakdance, battles can be held in any dance style, with the winner being the dancer with the better set of skills, technique, variety, expression and musicality.
Bachata battles have become increasingly popular in recent years and are often part of relevant events, named by Bachatanama.
A Bachata Battle offers a way to showcase your Bachata dancing skills in a solo setting, such as styling and footworks, which are not necessarily connected to a partner.
BACHATA 1X1 BATTLE RULES
• The modality Bachata Battle 1x1 is divided in two categories, being Men Style and Lady Style. There is no gender restriction.
• All Phases are divided in battles as all Battles are divided in rounds. Rounds are divided in entrances.
• At the First Preliminary match, a random selection will divide the dancers in two groups. These two groups will stand on the stage, in front of each other, and begin a Group vs Group Battle when music starts. The evaluation is kept individual.
• Every dancer from both groups will have 2 short Entrances in this phase. During an Entrance a dancer must stand in front of the opposite group and dance showing the best of its skills. Once again, the evaluation is going to be kept individual.
• The judges will freely select, from two of the groups, dancers to succeed to the next phase.
• From the next phase on, all matches will be held as one vs one for every round and phase.
• The Judges, producers and DJ will be in charge of the music selection in order to ensure a good level of the battles.
• At the end of the Battles, all Judges show their votes for the winner by making an arm gesture. It must be done simultaneously, right after a country of three. The Dancer who receive more votes proceed to the next phase.
The Final will be competed by the best selected dancers from each category. 3 battles will define and rank and following positions.
