Bachata & Konpa Bootcamp 🔥 Get ready for Malmö’s very first event uniting the two most iconic dances from the island of Hispaniola — one from Haiti 🇭🇹 and the other from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴: Konpa (Kompa) and Bachata! ℹ️ What is Konpa (Kompa)? A smooth, elegant partner dance from Haiti – Konpa blends fluid body movement with deep groove and emotional expression. It’s a soulful dance that captures the warmth, grace, and heartbeat of Haitian culture. 💫🇭🇹 ℹ️ What is Bachata? Energetic, playful, and full of rhythm – Bachata Dominicana celebrates musicality, syncopated footwork, and connection with your partner. It’s a dance of joy, storytelling, and island spirit straight from the Dominican Republic! 🎵🇩🇴 Both dances embody the Caribbean’s rhythm, passion, and life — expressed through Creole and Spanish musical traditions. Rooted in the identity and musical soul of their respective cultures, Konpa and Bachata are partner dances filled with connection, emotion, and joy. Join us for a cozy winter afternoon in December ❄️ as we explore these dances together, enjoy some Christmas fika 🎄 and let our minds travel to the sunny, vibrant, and warm Caribbean. ☀️🌴🥥 📅 When: Sunday, December 14 🕒 Time: 15:00–19:00 📍 Where: United Dance Studios, Malmö Agenda: 🕓 15:00–17:00 – Konpa with Mariana Discover the flowing movements of Konpa — it’s not just Gouyad! For basic–intermediate level dancers. 🕔 17:00–19:00 – Bachata Dominicana with Agnessa & Carla Dive deep into the traditional Dominican groove, footwork, and partner connection! For intermediate dancers. 🎶 19:00 – 22.00 Social Dance for all participants! Stay, dance, connect, and enjoy the evening together. There will be two dance floors: one salsa (mix) and one with bachata/konpa/kiz.
