BACHATA MOVIE NIGHT

DOUBLE FEATURE BACHATA MOVIE NIGHT The purpose of this is to get the group together one last time for some food and fun and to say thanks for supporting me in my courses. The pleasure was all mine! I'm very humbled and thankful that I was able to share my passion of Bachata with all of you. The other reason for the get together is to educate ourselves more on the history of bachata and what it really means and where it comes from and the struggle it went through. After the movies we will hopefully be able to appreciate and understand the music and Dominican culture a little more after the films. LOCATION: THE ROYAL HOTEL (upstairs on 2nd floor) 370 Abercrombie Street Darlington, Sydney, 2008 (near the carraige works / eveliegh market) TIME: 7p-10p MOVIES: (don't know which one will be first yet) **First movie will be at 7:30 sharp **2nd movie will be after that. movies are "SANTO DOMINGO BLUES" & "EL DUQUE DE LA BACHATA" Santo Domingo Blues features Luis Vargas and is more about the history of bachata from his perspective. El Duque is the documentary film on Joan Soriano and his upbringing and his Bachata musical journey. * Note there will be Joan Soriano cds avaiable for purchase ***EVENT WILL BE UPSTAIRS ON 2ND FLOOR*** FOOD: This is very important (if not just as important as the movies). THERE WILL BE FOOD !!! hahaha. The place has a huge full on food menu as well as a big bar. There will be cocktail platters provided from 7p-8p (KITCHEN SHUTS AT 8.30) If you want anything else aside from the cocktail platters you are on your own. PLATTERS WILL BE: -Mini beef pies with tomato ketchup -Vegtable spring rolls with sweet chili sauce -Tempura prawns with sweet llime and chili sauce ***PLATTERS ARE RESERVED ONLY FOR PT.1 & 2 STUDENTS*** THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL THAT LOVE BACHATA !!! INVITE AS MANY AS YOU LIKE. BUT ONLY THE FIRST 40-50 PEOPLE GET IN CUZ THATS ALL THE ROOM CAN HOLD HAHAHA.
