Come learn the foundation of Bachata fusion - a taste of traditional Dominican roots paired with modern contemporary flair! We have put together 2 classes that will be different from our sensual style workshops we’ve conducted previously. One class will be a footwork class, the other being for partnering. Both intended to improve your dancing and having fun while doing so! Bachata is a traditional genre of music & dance originating from the Dominican Republic, developed during a time of government and media censorship. Bachata once disparaged for its association with the “unsophisticated”, is now a Nostalgic keepsake for many Latin cultures. As Dominican people migrated outside the Dominican Republic, the opportunity for Bachata’s commercialization would take the genre to new heights.
