Bachata Workshops with Bri Jones & The Don

For the first time together in Houston, come join international instructors Bri Jones from New York and The Don on these special workshops. —————————————————————— 1-2PM - Bachata Body Movement Learn how to get the proper body movement and control into your dancing. This workshop will have a heavy focus on technique and detail to get you to the next level within your solo and partner work! 2-3PM - Bachata Sensual Evolution This workshop will be focused on developing the proper technique, connection, and unique patterns for this bachata style originated in Cadiz, Spain. 3-4PM - Bachata Sensual Taken to The Next Level Build on what you learned from Bachata Sensual Evolution! This class will be more advanced than the previous and focus on higher level techniques & moves. 4-5PM - Bachata Femme Styling (Traditionally called “Ladies’ Styling”) All are welcome who want to learn these techniques - not just ladies!!! We will cover footwork, arm styling, posture and showmanship that will take your confidence to the next level and leave you looking amazing on the dance floor! She took her first structured Ballet class when she was sixteen months old. Growing up, Bri danced a variety of styles including Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Israeli Folk Dance, East Coast Swing, and Tap. While living in Washington State, Bri studied dance at the Gig Harbor School of the Performing Arts, Action Dance Academy, Encore Theatre/Dance Academy , Salsa Con Todo, and majored in dance at the Tacoma School of the Arts. Bri also studied Gymnastics for years at NASA Gymnastics in Gig Harbor, WA. In New York she continued dance studies with classes in various styles at Broadway Dance Center. Bri took her first LA Style Salsa On1 class when she was twelve years old. At sixteen, she began training in New York Style Salsa On2 and Bachata Fusion. Since then, Bri has trained in a variety of styles of Bachata. She is certified by Korke & Judith to teach Bachata Sensual Methodology. She has also taken classes with/learned from Luis & Andrea, Daniel & Desiree, Alex Morel, La Fuerza Dance Company (Fausto Felix), and more. Her intensive training for Salsa came from Zafire Dance Company based out of New York, NY. She also took classes from instructors/companies such as Eddie Torres, Yamulee Dance Company, Johnny Vazquez, Eddie Torres Jr., Jariel La Salsa, Isa Freiberger, Delia Madera, and more. Bri has also studied Kizomba from various instructors in Seattle, Paris and Africa. She has learned Zouk from instructors in the United States and Brazil, her primary inspirations/teachers being Anderson & Brenda. Today, Bri travels the world teaching Bachata Fusion, Salsa, Heels/Ladies’ Styling and Kizomba/Urban Kiz workshops. Abroad, she has taught in Dubai, Kenya, Germany, Italy, Oman, Malta, Turkey, Fujairah, Spain, Prague, Israel and Mexico, with more countries scheduled for the remainder of 2019 and 2020. In the United States, Bri has taught in New York, Boston, Washington DC, Miami, Orlando, Seattle, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, Arizona, Utah, Louisiana, Missouri, and counting. Damian Guzman (The Don) Bio: Damian Guzman (The Don) is best known for his social dancing admiration and focus thru the world. During his childhood in Puerto Rico, he developed a special passion for salsa and bachata Carribbean-style. This passion led him to take his skills beyond the Caribbean style feeling to a more technical level since 2006. In 2011, he developed a special passion for Bachata Sensual which led him to pursue further understanding of this emerging style of bachata developed in Europe leading him to further training and dancing in Spain, France, Italy, and Germany becoming one of the first Bachata Sensual dancers in the United States. Eventually, his love and passion for this dance also led him to train to become one of the first certified bachata sensual instructors in the United States. The Don is also the founder of The MOB Dancers Group which comprises over 6,000 dancers in the US focused on Salsa & Bachata Social Dancing. As a dancer and DJ he has taught and shared his love for Bachata all around the world including over 100 dance Congresses thru the United States, England, Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Russia, Vietnam, Australia, Argentina, Ukraine, Sweden, and Aventura Dance Cruise, The Largest Latin Dance Cruise in The World.
