Sunday 21/06: BACK FROM JAPAN party + maestra Veronica Vazquez! 🌸 To celebrate our return from Japan, we will invite the amazing Veronica Vazquez and make our Sunday Japanese! We will welcome back Veronica for a special workshop “Superb Floorcraft and Navigation” to learn from one of the most talented tango maestras, what are secrets to “own” the floor and offer to one’s dance partner a beautiful experience at the milonga. And to celebrate the return from Japango, we will take a musical journey through Japan’s surprising tango heritage, with special tandas featuring Japanese orchestras that embraced and performed Argentine tango in decades past. And, of course, listen out for a few cortinas featuring J-pop classics to add an extra touch of fun. We will also bring delicacies from Tokyo and beyond, from sembei to green tea and sweets, and even including black eggs that have been prepared near the mount Fuji: boiled in natural sulfur-rich hot springs, the shells turn jet-black due to a chemical reaction with iron in the water. Local legend claims eating just one adds seven years to your life. And yes you can come dressed in Japanese style clothing if you have any! So come and share a little of the magic, flavours, and memories of Japan while enjoying great tango, wonderful music, and the company of friends.
